As members of Toronto’s WordPress community, Kobayashi Online designed several potential logos for WordCamp Toronto, the “un-conference” for all things relating to the WordPress content management system.
For WordCamp Toronto 2012, the Toronto WordPress community opened logo submissions to everyone. We, of course, joined in with our graphic designer Eva leading the creation of fun, approachable logos that represent the city and the event.

Kobayashi Online officially submitted five designs. The logo concepts were clean and fun with a fresh and modern vibe through colour and custom typography. They cleverly interweave Toronto imagery when possible, and incorporate circle shapes that represent the cohesiveness and togetherness of WordCamp and the city.
(Click here to see the process we went through to create these logos.)
In the end the WordCamp Toronto committee chose a logo by Valerie Crozier who did a great job making a logo that matches the event and we applaud her effort. And even though our logos were not chosen, we’d like to share them.
Please let us know which ones you like in the comments!

I really like the fourth one … definitely the “image” part. Any intentions to “open source” these?
I like more the approach you guys took, I think they look more fresh and creative than the ones chosen. One thing though, in my opinion, you should not to rotate the W. Usually in branding it’s discouraged the rotation of a logo.
Thanks for the comment, Adam. I’m glad you like the logos. It was great chatting with you at WordCamp Montreal.
I see what you mean about rotating the WordPress logo. We tried putting it at a “jaunty” angle to give it a light and fun look. On the other hand, I can see how the rotation could impact the integrity and recognition of the logo.
